A novel strong and durable near-surface mounted (NSM) FRP method with cost-effective fillers

Conventional near-surface mounted (NSM) FRP methods rely on expensive and less durable epoxy-filler bond to transfer tensile force from reinforcements into concrete elements, generally failing fully develop the strength of reinforcements. In this paper, cost-effective potentially more fillers (e.g. cement-based paste ceramic tile adhesive) combined with anchorages have been proposed improve conventional NSM methods. Experimental results demonstrate that are able make full use reinforcements, suggesting excellent compatibility between method. Further mechanical improvements can be achieved by evenly distributing material one groove multiple grooves. Moreover, study tends high-viscosity cement filler for facilitating installation especially bottom or side elements. The application flexural reinforcement elements also explored, aiming deliver a much easier installation. It is believed paper presents feasible Test suggest those achieve stronger method fillers.
